DR Congo - The Sleeping Giant

The Democratic Republic of Congo possesses some of the best natural conditions for coffee growing worldwide. Along the shores of Lake Kivu and in the volcanic highlands grow ancient Bourbon varieties, some dating back to the Belgian colonial era.

The Kivu provinces in the east at 1,460-2,000 meters are the heartland. Volcanic soils, the moderating influence of Lake Kivu, and ideal elevations yield outstanding quality.
