Jamaica Blue Mountain is one of the most famous and expensive coffees in the world. Its name is geographically protected and may only be used for coffee grown in the Blue Mountains between 910 and 1,700 meters.
The Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains in eastern Jamaica reach up to 2,256 meters. Frequent fog, cool temperatures, and abundant rainfall create a unique microclimate. Coffee cherries ripen here nearly twice as long as at lower elevations.
