Coffee from Vietnam

The world's second-largest coffee producer

Vietnam - Robusta Superpower

Vietnam is the world's second-largest coffee producer after Brazil and the largest Robusta producer overall. Coffee production only began in the 1850s under French colonial rule and exploded in the 1990s.

Central Highlands

The Tây Nguyên (Central Highlands) is the heart of Vietnamese coffee production. The provinces of Đắk Lắk, Lâm Đồng, and Gia Lai produce over 90% of the coffee. Basalt soils and tropical climate are ideal for Robusta.

Flavor Profile

  • Heavy body with earthy, nutty notes
  • Low acidity, but full-bodied
  • Dark chocolate and spices

Cà Phê Sữa Đá

The famous Vietnamese coffee preparation: Strong-brewed Robusta dripped through a Phin filter and served with sweetened condensed milk over ice – sweet, creamy, and intense at once.

Arabica from Vietnam

At higher elevations around Đà Lạt, increasingly high-quality Arabica is grown. Vietnamese specialty Arabica surprises with floral and fruity notes.
